i’m really bad at this “wannabe fashion blogger” stuff, but i don’t even care. blogging is something i have thought about for years and one day, when i get better i will look back at all these embarrassing photos and think to myself that i did everything that i had to when starting out in something new. just like when it comes to photography! i look back at some of my photos and think to myself, “how did i get paid for that?” but i did. and i worked hard. and things got better. i got better. i got bigger. and now photography is my job. Here is what you can do to make the change that is needed:
RASIE YOUR KIDS TO BE GOOD PEOPLE! Teach them to LOVE! Raise them to be open and honest, to be accepting and curious of others that may be different. Teach them to stand up for everyone and respect other opinions. Raise them to respect adults and authority. Let them get dirty and be creative. Let them dream and help them reach their goals. NEVER put them down. Talk your children UP and ALWAYS tell them they are doing great! Teach them at a young age to WORK HARD for what they want. Don’t just give them “things.” Give them experiences and the tools to be a decent, upstanding citizen. Teach them at a young age to follow rules, but also to follow their gut if something doesn’t feel right. Let them know that is if okay to voice concerns and opinions that may be different than others if it is in a respectful way. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR KIDS!!!!!! Show your children what hard work is and that things aren’t just given to you for free. Make them do chores. Be HAPPY and POSITIVE and when things get hard, show them how to work through them. Give your child emotional support to get through difficult moments in life, but don’t baby them. Life is tough. They have to be able to deal. Talk to your children. Don’t just assume they understand things or that their teachers will teach them things about life. If you don’t talk to your children, someone else will teach them something you may not want.
This is our life. Our community. Don’t ever depend on something or someone else to make you happy or make things happen. The president does not live in our town. He is not going to make personal change in your life. He is not going to pick up the trash that you throw out your window. He is not going to find you a new or better paying job. This is about you. YOU need to make things happen. YOU need to change your life. Let go of the idea that someone else is going to make change and get a strong grip on making your own change. Let go of the idea that someone else is going to take care of you. The president is not going to take care of you!
fall is definitely my favorite time of year. i am not sure why, but when fall rolls around i just start to feel so alive. and since big things are happening for us, i am pretty sure fall of 2016 will be the best fall yet!
i am trying to soak up these last few warm days and wear out all my summer clothes. i have had such a hard time finding clothes lately. i feel like i am now ready to get away from shopping at stores like american eagle, h & m, and forever 21 and ready to shop for clothes more my age. that sounds so old and depressing and it is even worse seeing it in writing. no really, i feel like i aged 10 years just saying that… i can feel the wrinkles and grey hair coming in as i write this! 🙁
we had the most amazing labor day weekend. we initially had plans to go to my moms cabin for the weekend. we had been wanting to get away with our pups before things got crazy with our schedules, which is sort of always. also, we are starting ivf next month and this was our last free weekend together until then.
however, it turned out that my mom had double booked the cabin so, of course, we were out! after that we thought we would take the boat and dogs to a lake for the weekend, but then started thinking about snakes and ticks and decided that was also out. so john went out and bought a big two bedroom tent (one for our messy dogs and one for us) and we tried to find a spot on the coast to camp. that didn’t work either. i don’t know what we were thinking trying to find a last minute camping spot on labor day weekend.
so this is what it came down to. the dogs were out and we packed up the canoe with a smaller tent, (yes we went and bought another tent) a camping stove, blankets, the yeti, drinks, food, and johns fishing pool. i am not going to lie, when we talked about going the night before i was very hesitant. i am big into showers and there obviously wasn’t going to be a spot to shower, let alone a spot to even use the bathroom. i was also concerned with weirdos bothering us and also mosquitos and other bugs. but i woke up the next morning feeling excited and i am so glad we went because it was seriously one of the best weekends i have had in a very long time.
